Dream Maker Award Presented to Lt. Governor Todd Lamb at Second Annual Dream Scholarship Gala
April 10th, 2017
OKLAHOMA CITY– Lt. Governor Todd Lamb received the Dream Maker award from Mid-America Christian University at its second annual Dream Scholarship Gala, held April 6 at the Oklahoma City Civic Center Music Hall.
MACU’s Dream Maker award is given to elected officials, industry leaders and educators who have championed Christian education, provided civic leadership for global educational initiatives and have made a significant impact in students’ lives to help further their dreams.
The award was presented to Lamb by MACU President Dr. John Fozard, who hailed his influence on private and public education in the state of Oklahoma.
Lamb, who recently announced he was filing paperwork to run for state governor, also served as the keynote speaker for the evening.
Held yearly in April, MACU’s Dream Scholarship Gala invites guests to join the university in an evening to “Dream Bigger” and “Do Greater” for the benefit of student scholarships. Sponsorships and donations are added to MACU’s Evangel Fund, providing dollars for current and future students seeking financial assistance.
“Thanks to the generosity of our donors, alumni and friends, MACU is able to ensure that our students are not held back by financial constraints, and that our students remain inspired to not only follow their dreams, but also to follow God’s vision for their life,” said Rev. Steve Seaton, Vice President for University Advancement.
Highlights from this year’s gala included emcee Lauren Nelson, Discover Oklahoma co-host and former Miss America and Miss Oklahoma, as well as musical performances by MACU students and a speech from a university alumnus.
Next year’s Dream Scholarship Gala will be held on April 5, 2018, in Oklahoma City.
