OKLAHOMA CITY– For the second consecutive season, the Mid-America Christian University softball squad earned the Sooner Athletic Conference Academic Team award, the league released June 27. The award is presented to each team that has the highest cumulative grade point average in their respective sport.
The softball Evangels recorded a 3.5 GPA this season after posting a 3.48 GPA during the 2015-16 campaign.
"We are so excited to win this award for the second straight year," MACU softball head coach Robert Wakefield said.
"This shows that our student-athletes are taking care of business in the classroom as well as excelling on the field. It's a great achievement for our team and MACU."
