Mike Wilkinson Named to Oklahoma Magazine's 40 Under 40 List
April 25th, 2017
For eleven years, Oklahoma Magazine has selected young achievers from across the state – stretching from Guymon to Guthrie and Jenks to Jefferson – to honor Oklahomans who share the goal of improving and enhancing the land they love. This year, one of MACU’s own was named to the prestigious 40 Under 40 list.
As the assistant vice president of Enrollment Services, Mike Wilkinson helps students “Dream Bigger” and “Do Greater” every day as they make one of the most important decisions of their lives: Where should they attend college?
A Venezuela native, Wilkinson first came to MACU twelve years ago as a baseball student-athlete. After graduating with his bachelor’s and MBA degrees, he stayed a part of the MACU family as an employee and worked his way through the ranks.
“I am so grateful for the many opportunities MACU has given me,” Wilkinson said. “It’s the perfect place to express my creativity, love for people and passion for entrepreneurship.
“Being awarded the 40 Under 40 is such an honor. To be recognized in Oklahoma for serving students and helping the place I love grow is nothing short but a miracle. I thank God for leading me to MACU and for putting quality leaders around me that took a chance on me.”
When he’s not helping shape the lives of future Evangels, Wilkinson serves at a New Leash on Life in Norman, Okla., an organization dedicated to pairing Oklahomans with service and therapy dogs.
“It’s been an amazing experience that has not only created an unbelievable bond with my chocolate Labrador, Cub, but, more importantly, it has helped me stay rooted in humility and pushed me to serve those in need by bringing joy to people that need companionship,” he said.
