Coach Logan Martin Joins MACU Women's Basketball Staff
July 2nd, 2019
OKLAHOMA CITY– Coming off back-to-back NCCAA National Championships, the Mid-America Christian University women's basketball team has added to an already-strong coaching staff for the 2019-20 season. Head Coach Hannah Moeller has announced the addition of Logan Martin as the third member of the staff, joining returning assistant coach Kelsie Dutton, as the Evangels look to continue building on the solid foundation they’ve established.
“We are excited to add someone with Coach Martin's basketball experience,” said Moeller. “She is one of the best players to ever play in the Sooner Athletic Conference, and we believe that her knowledge of the game will be a great aid in our guard play improving every day. Her presence in the lives of our players will be a great thing for everyone involved. We are excited to have her here at MACU.”
Martin, a native of Bethany, Okla., was a standout player for four years at Southern Nazarene University. During her collegiate career, she earned all-SAC honors four times, including three first team selections, and was a three-time NAIA All-American. At the time of her graduation, Martin was one of only two players in SNU program history to have amassed 1,500 points, 600 assists, and 500 rebounds.
Martin finished her career with 1,815 points, 620 assists and 573 rebounds. After her career, she stood ninth all-time in SNU history in points scored, fourth in assists, third in 3-point field goals made (184), fourth in free throws made and fifth in 3-point field goal percentage (39.7).
After a one-year hiatus following her playing days, Martin joined the SNU staff for the 2013-14 season as an assistant, and she has coached for SNU in each of the last six seasons. She helped lead SNU to 66 wins in her time on the bench, a stint in which she coached alongside Dutton for two seasons.
“I am truly excited to join the athletic department at MACU,” Martin said. “This is a quality institution with great values and culture. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of Coach Moeller's staff and work alongside a proven winner. I am looking forward to representing the women's basketball program here at MACU.”
